We tell you which types you need, supply and fit them, then service them each year.
After each service you get a dated label on every extinguisher and a record for your fire safety logbook. We look after shops, offices, takeaways and HMOs in Luton and Dunstable. Many book it with a fire risk assessment.
Which Fire Extinguisher Do I Need?
Different fires need different extinguishers. Water and foam suit paper, wood and fabric. CO2 suits electrical equipment, and wet chemical is made for cooking oil fires.
Your fire risk assessment shows the risks in your building. We use it to tell you which types to have and how many.
Supply and Fitting
Extinguishers should be close to exits and near the risk they cover. Think of a CO2 by a server cupboard, or wet chemical beside a takeaway fryer.
They should be easy to see and easy to reach. We supply the right ones and fit them on wall brackets or stands.
What Happens at a Yearly Service
Our engineer checks each extinguisher for damage and checks its weight or pressure. They also look at the pin, seal and hose. Anything faulty is repaired or replaced, with a clear price first.
Each extinguisher gets a dated service label. You get a written record for your logbook to show the fire service or your insurer.
Quick Checks Between Services
It is good practice to look at your extinguishers once a month. Check each one is in place, the pin and seal are intact and the needle is in the green.
If an extinguisher has been used, even a little, it needs refilling or replacing. Give us a call and we will sort it.
