Who we are

EPC Gas Specialist Ltd (registered office: 5 Culverhouse Road, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU3 1PX) is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy at info@epcgasspecialist.co.uk or on 07898 232710.

What we collect

Details you give us through our website forms, by phone or by email: your name, phone number, email address, property address, the service you need and any message you send.
Information about the property we inspect, gathered during the visit and needed to produce your certificate or report.

How we use it

To respond to your enquiry, give you a quote and arrange an appointment (steps taken at your request before entering a contract).
To carry out the inspection and issue your certificate or report (performance of our contract with you).
To meet legal requirements. For example, Energy Performance Certificates must be lodged on the government's national EPC register, where they are publicly searchable by address.
To keep business and accounting records (legal obligation and legitimate interests).

We do not sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.

Who we share it with

Our accreditation schemes and the national EPC register, where lodging a certificate requires it.
Service providers who help us run the business, such as our website host and the form service that delivers website enquiries to our inbox. They only process your information on our instructions.
Authorities, where the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months. Records of work carried out are kept for as long as needed to meet legal, insurance and accounting requirements, typically up to 6 years.

Cookies

We use Google Analytics to see how people find and use our website, such as which pages they visit and whether they call or send a form. It only sets cookies if you click Accept on our cookie banner. If you click Reject, Google gets basic visit counts with no cookies and nothing that identifies you. We do not use advertising cookies.

Some parts of the site load content from other services, which receive your IP address and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies: the maps on our Contact and location pages (Google Maps), the area map on our homepage (OpenStreetMap), and our Google reviews widget (Trustindex).

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to or restrict how we use it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
