We work out the figure from your taps, showers, toilets and appliances. You get a report for building control.
It is done from your fittings list, so there is no site visit. Whether you are building in Luton or nearby Harpenden, we can tell you early if any fitting needs swapping.
What Are Water Calculations?
A water calculation shows how much water a new home is expected to use, per person per day. It adds up the toilets, taps, showers, bath, washing machine and dishwasher.
The usual limit is 125 litres per person per day. Some planning permissions set a tighter limit of 110 litres, so check your planning conditions.
Who Needs Water Calculations?
You need them for every new house or flat. You also need them when a conversion creates a new home, such as a house split into flats.
Building control asks for the figure before they sign the work off.
What We Need From You
Send us the make and model, or the spec sheet, for each fitting. We need toilet flush volumes, tap and shower flow rates, bath size and appliance details.
Not chosen your fittings yet? We can tell you the flow rates to aim for, so you buy the right ones first time.
If the Figure Is Too High
The usual fixes are simple. A dual-flush toilet, a lower-flow shower or taps with flow restrictors can bring the figure down.
Swapping a fitting on paper costs far less than replacing it later. Send your list early. Tell us what you swap and we run the figures again.
